I was blessed to be able to attend a dermatology conference with my husband this week! He gets to attend scientific sessions and absorb lots of knowledge while I read my book on the beach. Slathered in SPF 80. Under an unbrella. In a rash guard. Sun safety above all, people! ?
I’m like a kid in a candy store when I get to attend dermatology conferences because I love to see the latest products and technology that promise me improved skin tone, texture and appearance. I stopped by a booth for Hydrafacial MD and Deanna was nice enough to do a mini treatment for me. Hydrafacial MD claims to help eliminate the appearance of fine lines, hyperpigmentation, oil and congestion and even diminish creases in the nasolabial fold. Sign me up!
A regular treatment lasts 20 to 30 minutes and runs around $170. My treatment was fairly quick, about 15 minutes, but it still made my skin feel great! I notice when I am wearing a lot of sunscreen that the pores around my nose and my forehead become larger and gunked up. Blech! Deanna used the hydropeel tip to exfoliate and then the vortex fusion vacuum to gently clean out all those pores. It was a perfectly painless extraction experience. Then she applied a light glycolic acid with the lovely vortex fusion tip, resulting in a tingling sensation that wasn’t unpleasant. It was like a gentler form of microdermabrasion. I felt like my skin was healthy and glowing at the end. There was no downtime, which is also a plus. And now here’s real transparency for you – a no-makeup selfie post treatment. Now I’m off to read my book!
